DP Ruto, Duale take action as political temperatures soar in Jubilee and reports of a fall-out emerge
Uhuru's close relationship with Raila will be the undoing of Jubilee-Duale warns
Addressing both his loyal troupes and opponents from within the Jubilee party the DP called for a truce between the warring Jubilee party factions, urging them to shun politics based on ethnicity and regions.
Ruto asserted that “going forward, we believe the only way to have our country united is by dealing away with politics of hatred and tribe and having a national party that brings on board every Kenyan”.
The DP however did not relent on his attacks targeting the opposition led by Raila Odinga who he has in the past accused of wrecking the Jubilee party and attempting to kick him out of the party ahead of the 2022 contest.
Dr. Ruto was speaking in Mandera during a fundraiser where he lashed at an unnamed opposition figures of sowing discord in Jubilee Party, accusing them of forming parties for selfish political reasons.
“We cannot unite a nation without ensuring that we eliminate politics of ethnicity and politics of broken parties,” he said.
We not allow our party leader and his deputy to take us for a ride-Duale warns
Leader of Majority in parliament Aden Duale threw his weight behind DP Ruto’s remarks, stating that outside forces have been unleashed to destroy their party.
“They destroyed Kanu leading to President Kenyatta’s defeat in 2002 and then Narc followed before they formed Cord that collapsed due to their political dishonesty. We know them,” Duale said.
Duale claimed that President Kenyatta’s close relationship with Mr Raila Odinga will be the undoing of Jubilee and would crush the party and vowed not to sit back and watch the party crumble.
“As a region and as an individual, we have invested in this party which is like a company. We have seen the dividends and profits and I will not go down history as a majority leader who watched as Jubilee was being destroyed,” he said.
“We not allow our party leader and his deputy to take us for a ride after asking us to dissolve our political parties then later bring in [someone] to destroy Jubilee.” Duale added.
