Drama ensued in Kiambaa on Sunday after a crowd blocked Deputy President William Ruto from boarding his chopper.

It all started towards the end of a church service which was attended by the DP alongside other leaders when the crowd of jubilant supporters positioned themselves outside the church, waiting for the service to end.

As soon as DP Ruto stepped out of the church, the jiubilant crowd started chanting pro-Ruto slogans demanding to be addressed by the DP.

The crowd, mostly youth donning branded yellow t-shirts and carrying banners written "Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Our Choice 2022" caused a stir, momentarily bringing business to a standstill.

The Deputy President gave in to their demands and addressed the elated supporters amidst chants and cheers before boarding his chopper.

In an earlier address to the congregation, Ruto reiterated that the government would not be distracted by cheap politics in its quest to deliver its promises to Kenyans.

"As Uhuru's assistant, I would like to assure you that we will remain focused on bringing development and uniting Kenyans.

"Let them continue making noise. They are used to it. We are trying to show them how things are done," stated Ruto.
