Deputy President William Ruto has broken his silence and given his verdict on yesterday’s meeting at Sagana State Lodge where President Uhuru Kenyatta met leaders from the expansive mount Kenya region.

In a speech that was characterised by heavy political statements, DP Ruto picked up from where he left before yesterday's meeting, trailing his guns at his critics.

Bouyed by yesterday’s meeting, Ruto who was addressing the public rally in his Rift Valley backyard slammed his critics who he accused of falsely prophesying the death of Jubilee as a party and spreading rumors about the same.

“Kama vile rais amesema jana, wale manabii wa uongo na watu wa ukora ambao walikuwa wanatuzungushia maneno, ooh Jubilee imekwama, ooh, Jubilee ikon a shida, ooh, Jubilee imetawanyika sasa wako na mwelekeo sawasawa kutoka kwa party leaders wetu kwamba Jubilee is united.

(As the president stated yesterday, the false prophets and conmen who have been spreading rumors about problems and disunity in Jubilee now have a better understanding from our party leader that Jubilee is united.)” Fired Ruto.

Shooting straight from the hip, Ruto whose silence on social media was loud yesterday during the meeting whose agenda was a closely-guarded secret did not relent on his attacks on his rivals and critics.

He hailed yesterday’s meeting as a clear indication that the party is united and affirmed that Jubilee’s agenda is all about uniting Kenyans and development.

“Lengo la chama cha Jubilee ni kuunganisha wakenya wote na kulenga kupanga mambo ya maendeleo. (As Jubilee party, our aim is to unite Kenyans as we focus on development issues). Added the DP.

The D P was accompanied by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who also reiterated that unity is key in Kenya’s progress.

Though the meeting was a closed door affair where phones and the media were locked out, sources privy to discussions that were held revealed that the President gave express orders that the leaders should support BBI.

He assured his guests that he is aware of what he is doing and that they should trust his judgement.

The Standard reported that President Kenyatta chose to hold the meeting with Mt Kenya leaders to whip them to his side ahead of publishing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
