Trouble started when the lawmaker who is an ardent supporter launched a scathing attack on former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
His remarks angered the mourners at the event, with jeers from the angry mourners filling the air and intensifying with some threatening to eject him from the dais.
"Willy go and tell you father (Michael Wamalwa) that Barasa is going to deal with the man who denied him the chance to rule Kenya. Tell him that I’m going to 'unleash vengeance kicks' on Raila for the humiliation I got in Kibra [during] mini-poll,’’ said the legislator amidst jeers.

The final stroke was when he stated that he will rally the region and its leaders behind Deputy President William Ruto, challenging those in ODM to cross over to Jubilee and urging Raila to accept defeat in 2022 and warned him that he risked being jailed if he caused violence.
"Mr Amisi, you know that you were lucky to have won the Saboti seat and you know that I am capable of ensuring you lose your seat in 2022 if you don't quit ODM,’’ asserted Barasa as the crowd became hostile.
Upon sensing that matters were moving from bad to worse, Barasa cut short his speech mid-way.
Leaders who attended the event scoffed at the legislator for turning the funeral into a political rally, condemning his actions in strong terms.

Among those who were in attendance were Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka and MPs John Waluke and Justus Kizito.
‘’Elected leaders should address other leaders with decorum. Don’t use a funeral platform to attack other leaders,’’ Lusaka told Barasa.
“We know you are being used by someone to attack and insult respected leaders in the country and we will not tolerate your behavior,’’ warned Kizito.
