The Interesting feature WhatsApp has introduced

Interesting WhatsApp feature that you could access for free.

WhatsApp icon on a phone screen

The Facebook-owned app introduced WhatsApp group call where you can talk to multiple members simultaneously on video or audio.

How to Navigate

The procedure is easy, select the person you want to call either on audio or Video call and add other participants on the plus icon on the top right.

This makes it easier for friends who want to discuss similar topics, students or colleagues who have something in common to easily share.

Another trick that WhatsApp introduced which is quite useful is the option to disable the blue ticks. Once you disable the read receipts options, the person you are chatting with will not be able to check whether you have read the message or not.

Hiding Media Visibility

Incase you want to hide whether you have downloaded an image or video, head to the contact info option and navigate to the ‘Media Visibility’ option. Tap on ‘No’ and you will have hidden that particular information from the chat.

If you are not satisfied with the Group Admin then you can officially dismiss him/her from being one. WhatsApp users can long press Admin from the 'Group info page' and dismiss the said user from being the admin of that group.

Speaking of WhatsApp groups, a new feature was introduced that lets you send private messages in group chats.

WhatsApp already allows users to reply to a member of a group chat individually, but the new feature will divert you to a personal chat without losing the context of the discussion within the group.

Sharing Contacts

Reports had also indicated that WhatsApp could be launching a new update that will allow users to instantly share their contact details — without even having to press a button or tap a touchscreen.

It could spell an end to the embarrassment of fumbling around with a phone while trading numbers with a new date.

The messaging service is believed to be on the verge of releasing a new feature that lets users fetch each others' contact details by scanning a QR code.

With all these changes that the Facebook-owned application is making, you want to be up to date and spend as little as you can.

Airtel recognises the power of communication on WhatsApp and that’s why the telecommunications company is offering subscribers access to free WhatsApp when they subscribe to the 4G bundles that come at reasonable prices.

For only Ksh300 you will get the 1.5GB bundle, Ksh500 will get 4GB, with Ksh1000 you will get 10GB, while Ksh1500 will get you 15GB. There is also the 25GB and 40GB offer for heavy browsers going for Sh2000 and Sh3000 respectively.

With access to the free WhatsApp, you can hold a call with your group whether it's family or friends in case you are planning something for the festive season.
