Didmus Barasa reveals the MP who offered bribes to MPs to reject sugar report [Video]

MPs scrambled for bribes in parliament to shoot down the poisonous sugar report

Speaking to KTN, Barasa divulged that the team that dished out bribes to MPs was led by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi.

According to the Kimilili lawmaker, Gedi was acting in the interest of the pastoralist community that was keen on saving CS Adan Mohamed who was adversely mentioned in the report.

In the video below courtesy of KTN, Barasa opens up on what transpired in parliament as the MP embarked on a bribing spree.

Barasa disclosed that the team was keen on saving the career of treasury CS Henry Rotich who hails from the region and who they consider as one of their own.

MPs reportedly received bribes from sugar barons and those adversely mentioned in the report that was eventually rejected by parliament.

Greed prevailed as MPs reportedly shelved public interest in pursuit of money, allegedly receiving as little as 10000 shillings to protect those implicated in the scam.

An MP defended the move asking “What is wrong with us getting our share? I am going!”

This prompted more jeering from Nyeri Woman Representative Rajab Mukami, who said: “Shame! Shame! This is bad!”
