Jubilee Governor comes to Miguna, NASA's defense

He spoke ahead of Matiang'i's visit to the region

The Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor said that putting resources to deport Miguna Miguna and chasing around NASA leaders is a non-issue and that the government should instead focus more on protecting its citizens.

According to a report by the Star, the Governor asked the government to prioritize the fight against bandits spreading across Kerio Valley and that he was tired of attending funerals of victims of banditry every week.

Governor Tolgos said that 120 people have so far been killed in the past six months and blamed the government for not taking any action against the bandits.

"We have had so many meetings in the past including those attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto but there have been no positive results," said the governor.

He also said that the deliberations arrived at in the meetings are never implemented.
