“Mheshimiwa please note that we will hold a Parliamentary Group Meeting on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at State House Nairobi at 8:00 am sharp,” read an invitation message by Majority leader Aden Duale.

President Kenyatta last week declined to pass the Finance Bill 2018 which would have seen VAT on fuel suspended for the next two years.

The proposal is said to have divided MPs, with several members from both Jubilee and NASA vowing to scrap VAT altogether.

NASA is also expected to hold a similar meeting to lobby its parliamentarians into supporting the President’s proposal.
