Gladys Wanga addresses alleged split in ODM
A group allegedly elected new leaders
According the reports the Kasipul ODM sub-branch allegedly held elections to replace all current officials.
Wanga and the branch chairperson Evance Ndege blamed the inaccurate reports on party rebels asking members of the public to disregard them.
"As the ODM chairperson of the county, the party has not conducted any election in Kasipul constituency.
"I don't know the people who conducted the purported election and we tell our supporters to remain calm and ignore them," Wanga stated.
Party politics and disciplinary cases
The Orange party has been in the news recently as top politicians have been recommended for expulsion despite having been elected through the party ticket in 2017.
Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and his Malindi counterpart Aisha Jumwa are awaiting a final decision from the National Governing Council over their expulsion.
The two faced the National Executive Council and were officially expelled for declaring support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid.
They were further accused of disrespecting the party leader in some public functions.
