Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has caused a stir just hours before his daughter Dr Monica Njeri's wedding, which is set for Saturday.

Governor Waititu shortlisted his son-in-law's father Herman Gitau Nyotu for the Chairman position in the Kiambu County Public Service Board.
A list prepared at the Governor's office earlier in the week included Mr Gitau's name among the five candidates to be vetted by the county assembly.

MCAs, however, have confirmed to reporters that Gitau's name was not read out when the list was tabled at the House for debate.
A section of the ward representatives speculated that the name had been left out following questions from the House and members of the public.
Governor Waititu's daughter to wed on Saturday
The controversial nomination has sparked debates online, bringing unnecessary attention to Dr Njeri and her groom Dr Nyotu Gitau who are set to exchange vows at PCEA Evergreen Church, Runda on July 20.
Online commentators for the better part of Friday send their messages of disapproval to the Governor terming the alleged nomination as cronyism.

Others defended the governor stating that similar appointments have been made by others in his position.
