Education Background
Cecilia studied for her undergraduate studies in Kenyatta University where she acquired a Bachelor of Education (Science) in 1985. She then proceeded to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration in the same University where she graduated in 2006.
Work experience and politics
Before politics, Cecilia had been a principal in several high schools and Teacher’s colleges which are Moi Forces Lanet and Mogotio High schools. She then became a Senior Principal at Narok Teachers College.
She rose to the position of a director in 2009 for the Nairobi based Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education.
Ms. Ng’etich joined the William Ruto-led United Republican Party in February 2013.
She successfully vied for the position of a woman representative in Bomet County in 2013 on a URP ticket.
Cecilia went on to contest for the Sotik Member of Parliament seat which was previously held by current Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce Laboso. She however lost in the Jubilee Party primaries to the current Sotik MP Dominic Koskei.
When she was in the National Assembly she championed strongly against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). She also distributed sanitary pads to girls in select schools.
During her tenure in Parliament she was a member of the House Business Committee and Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology.
Cecilia is a mother of four children.
