Senate Majority Leader and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called out the Daily Nation after referring to him as Deputy President William Ruto’s man.
In a tweet, the senator stated that he outright rejected the local daily’s description of him, insisting that he has a name.
Murkomen echoed that he was also not an employee of the Deputy President, calling on the newspaper to stop bringing him into their alleged fight with DP Ruto.
“Dear @dailynation I reject your silly characterization. I have a name. I have a job. I am NOT an employee of the Deputy President. I don’t agree with him on everything even though I respect him as my Deputy Party Leader. Don’t involve me in your vicious war with the DP,” tweeted Senator Murkomen.
This comes hours after the Senate Majority leader raised questions in the manner in which President Uhuru Kenyatta executed the deal to have embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko hand over some key functions of the county to the National Government.
Murkomen in his statement at the senate said that President Uhuru breached the Constitution.
