Raila reveals plans of new 6-month Government

The NASA leader announced details of the new government that will rule Kenya for half a year.

Odinga said the interim government will save Kenya from plunging further deeper into a political and constitutional crisis.

Speaking during an interview with Reuters, Odinga disclosed that the interim government should run the country for six months during which the two sides of NASA and Jubilee led by President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta will hold a national dialogue to chart Kenya’s way forward.

The NASA leader insisted it would be nearly impossible for Kenyatta to rule the country where half of the population felt left out and short-changed.

“He (Kenyatta) knows very well he does not have the confidence of the people. In the October 26 poll, he got less than 30 percent of the electorate voted for him. That is a vote of no confidence. He will only be a president of some parts of the country,” Odinga affirmed.

He further warned that even if Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in, it will be a beginning of another political impasse regardless of whether the Supreme Court will uphold his victory or not.

He further called for a constitutional review that would see the strengthening of the IEBC and rein in on the powers of the presidency.

Odinga's announcement comes in the wake of the finalisation of a draft motion that will be tabled across the country from next week to allow the formation of the people's assemblies in the devolved units.
