Reports indicate that the well-placed sources who did not wish to be named are concerned that just like the ongoing purge on corruption, the directive is politically motivated and could hurt DP Ruto’s bid.

A look at the DP’s engagements over the weekends reveal that if he is often donating millions in harambees, launching new state projects or promising projects to wananchi across the country.

With the new directive, the number of projects launched successfully completed is expected to drop, hence hurting his bid.

The president made it clear that his directive is aimed at stopping wastage of public resources and the common practice of launching new projects before finishing ongoing initiatives.

The president and his deputy seem to be reading from the same script amidst reports of a looming fallout in Jubilee over the fight against corruption and lifestyle audit.

Although DP Ruto has always maintained that he is always briefed on any upcoming decisions, the freeze on government projects appears to have caught him off-guard.
