Emerging reports indicate that the lawmaker was arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives over corruption-related charges.

Mr Walukhe was arrested alongside Grace Wakhungu, the sister to former VP Moody Awori and Erad Suppliers Ltd.

Theyhave been linked to forgery and perjury of maize contract at the  National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) worth a whopping Sh297 million.

"The two, through their company are accused of fraudulently acquiring Ksh. 297,386,505/= purporting it to be the costs of storage of 40,000 metric tonnes of maize purportedly incurred by Chelsea Freight, loss of profits and interest," the charge sheet read.

They were be arraigned before Milimani Law Courts where they denied the charges levelled against them.

Walukhe was freed on a Sh2 million cash bail and Sh3million bond.
