Wetangula's party in a nasty twitter spat with Nasa

Wetangula was purged on Tuesday as the Senate Minority leader.

The former Emuhaya Constituency parliamentary hopeful had opined in a live Facebook broadcast on Thursday that the Wetangula ouster on Monday was not a Luhya versus Luo affair.

Through an official twitter account, the Wetangula-led party said that Mr Simekha was using Nasa Coalition resources as though his, to run the coalition, in the midst of efforts to quell the storm which led to the ouster of Mr Wetangula.

“You have no jurisdiction to use the Nasa coalition account to give your personal opinion. Stop running NASA affairs with a nest of personal intrigues. Shame,” the Ford Kenya tweeted to Nasa account.

The ugly spat on twitter comes hours after Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka held talks on Thursday at a hotel in Nairobi to give way forward after 19 ODM senators unanimously voted to oust Wetangula as the Senate Minority leader.

Crisis meeting

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Mr Odinga told the senators to iron out the issues bedeviling the Senate in a retreat and submit their resolutions to the Senate Speaker Mr Kenneth Lusaka.

“We have had a cordial discussion and we have briefed our senators. They have also briefed us on their issues at the Senate. The final response can be available in the next two weeks,” Mr Odinga told a press conference.

The replacement of Mr Wetangula with his Siaya counterpart James Orengo was done on Tuesday despite a letter by Odinga, demanding for the NASA senate parliamentary group to spare the Bungoma Senator.
