A section of Jubilee party legislators drawn from 11 counties have given a seven-day ultimatum to Jubilee party secretary Raphael Tuju to resign or apologize,.

Speaking after a meeting at an Eldoret hotel on Saturday, the legislators expressed displeasure at Tuju, divulging that they have a comprehensive plan to kick out Jubilee party leaders.

“We are telling Tuju categorically, if he is not supportive of the leadership of Jubilee let him resign, let him join Raila or whoever he wants to join. Let him leave our Jubilee party alone. We are giving him seven days to apologize or resign.

Below is the video that arks the latest development in the ongoing Jubilee party.

Their plan to force the officials out of office entails withholding any subscriptions paid to the party thereby starving the party of funds needed to operate.

“We are going to force them out of office by not paying subscriptions and we are going to mobilize all Jubilee MCAs to go and eject them from those offices so that they know Jubilee has its own owners.” The MCAs affirmed.

They further demanded that the ruling party should call for elections to kick out errant officials causing wrangles in the party and threatened to mobilize MCAs across the country to eject them from office.

Divisions rock Jubilee over 2022

Tuju is on record confirming that Jubilee party has no pact with anyone in regard to the 2022 presidential elections, revealing that the party would pick its candidate in a competitive and open process.

The remarks came in the wake of an uproar in Jubilee party after its former Vice Chair David Murathe made similar remarks, stating that DP Ruto should retire with President Kenyatta in 2022.

Murathe who eventually resigned from his role at the party threatened to go to the Supreme Court to bar the DP from succeeding President Kenyatta in 2022.

His remarks irked DP Ruto’s camp but attracted the support of veteran East Africa Legislative Assembly MP Maina Kamanda who stated that Murathe as merely expressing a position that is shared by may within Jubilee party.

Shortly after his resignation, Murathe divulged a lot of people are scared of a Ruto presidency with many contemplating with many stuf that they are ready to use against the DP “We had certain expectations of how the leadership would behave, we have seen how it has behaved upto now. Some of us are genuinely scared that if they can behave like this when they are number two, what will they do when they are number one?" Murathe said in an interview with KTN News.

A lot of people are relishing a contest against the Deputy President because they have loads of stuff against him which they are ready and willing to use against him,” he added.
