Justice James Wakiaga warns media over covering Maribe, Jowie case
Stop it! Judge tells off media
While making a ruling on Wednesday morning, Wakiaga told the media to stop speculating about the unravelled matters regarding the slain businesswoman Ms. Kimani.
“The court is adding one rider to these guys of the media, from now that is before me that these statements which you keep telling about what you have done and what you have not done, the money which has not been collected and recovered, from now you stop writing them, okay?” warned Wakiaga.
Justice Wakiaga has taken over from Judge Jessie Lesiit who withdrew from the case on Monday, under unknown reasons and directed another judge to hear the case.
In his ruling, Wakiaga directed the two main suspects to spend another one week in remand. Maribe will go back to Lang’ata women’s prison whereas Irungu will go back to Industrial Area Remand Prison until October 24 when their bail hearing will be heard.
Irungu and Maribe have been charged with the murder of Ms. Kimani whose body was found at her Kilimani apartment on September 19 and have since pleaded not guilty to the charge.
