Kalonzo's role in Uhuru's China trip raises eyebrows

Fruits of the handshake?

Musyoka was on Monday pictured with the government's delegation which included Cabinet Secretaries Monica Juma, Henry Rotich, Peter Munya and James Macharia in China.

It is still not clear what role the former Vice President is playing in the China trip with many seeing as part of the fruits of the handshake between Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Handshake support

Kalonzo is on record affirming his support of the handshake "whole-heartedly" together with its initiatives such as the committee, fight against corruption and lifestyle audit among others.

According to The Standard, Wiper Executive Director Jared Siso confirmed their party leader flew out of the country last Saturday and is expected back on Thursday.

“Kalonzo has served this country as a vice-president and is known for his diplomacy, so it is in order if indeed he is in the official team. President Uhuru also has the latitude to decide on people to accompany him in his official trips,” said Dr Siso.

Other Wiper officials insisted that Musyoka was only at the summit as the honorary chairman of World Eminent Chinese Businessmen Association (WECBA).
