Kalonzo Musyoka throws his weight behind Raila with special request to Uhuru

Kalonzo Musyoka asks asks President Kenyatta to intervene in Muthama’s case

Musyoka expressed support for the Building Bridges to a New Kenya Initiative led by Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, welcoming the spirit of the handshake, national dialogue and reconciliation in the country.

The Wiper Party boss divulged that he is on a special mission to promote unity, joining President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and is ready to meet anyone who cares to meet him over the same.

"I am ready to meet anyone including retired presidents Daniel Moi,  Mwai Kibaki and  Mama Ngina Kenyatta," Musyoka said.

The wiper party leader also endorsed the push for constitutional amendments and a referendum championed by Raila.

He however cautioned that the amendments must be used to advance unity, peace and development and not to create posts for individuals.

He further appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to walk the talk on reconciliation and forgiveness by dropping cases against Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama among others.

Speaking on Saturday during a Wiper Party meeting in Gilgil, Musyoka challenged the President to demonstrate true forgiveness by dropping cases against six politician, popularly referred to as ‘Pangani 6’.

On June 17 2016, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, MPs Aisha Jumwa, Junet Mohamed, Florence Mutua,Timothy Bosire, Kimani Ngunjiri, Moses Kuria and  Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu were arraigned in court to answer to charges of hate speech.
