Martha Karua comes clean, spills the beans
Speaking during an interview with NTV, Ms. Karua stated that there was an open agreement among various parties to inflate the figures in order to support certain individuals.
The iron lady noted that she was invited to participate in the electoral fraud but she rejected the invitation.
"This time around there was an oblique invitation to participate in electoral fraud and I said I have won before without having to offend the rule and I will win without offending the rules,” Karua divulged.
She refused to disclose the name of the person who invited her to participate in elections fraud noting: "It was an open secret that somehow votes will be added at some stage".
Ms. Karua added that secret trainings conducted to ensure rigging was conducted.
"Even those who went for certain trainings which I will not name ,knew that there will be electoral fraud at that time. So it is an open secret,” the lawyer noted.
She insisted that election fraud was experienced countrywide.
"Right now there is hearing happening in Kisumu, the gubernatorial election is being challenged. Even in Siaya. This shows you that cheating is not something that happens in one political party. As a nation, very many people have adopted cheating as a means of acquiring political power," he said.
The former Justice Minister highlighted that she would not relent petitioning against the win of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru insisting that votes were deliberately inflated to favor her.
