Governor cornered by MCAs in his county
The allocation which has been labeled as a "ward development fund" is one of the conditions they have issued the county government with in order to adopt the proposed budget.
The MCAs have also demanded to have the county government provide a list of the county's Sh2 billion pending bills for their perusal.
Majority Leader Kenneth Onyango refuted claims that the demands were tough stating that the aim of the assembly is to streamline county expenditure.
"We would wish to expedite this budget making process because it is not in the interest of the Assembly to hold the county hostage," he stated.
Kisumu Deputy Governor puts MCAs on notice
Kisumu Deputy Governor Matthews Owili responded to the MCAs stating that the county administration will consider their demands.
He, however, cautioned them that their demand to have the Assembly chambers rebuilt at a cost of Sh600 million would not be considered.
