Miguna 'robbed' during US visit

Miguna's harambee takes a very sad twist

Miguna visited Dallas on March 10th as part of his global tour where he has been meeting NRM supporters from diaspora communities.

The visit was coordinated by Kenyan promoter Steve Aseno who booked the meeting hall, arranged for Miguna’s flight, and planned for the town hall logistics.

The NRM general delivered a lengthy speech which was followed by a fund raiser to assist him settle legal bills and fix the broken doors at his Runda house.

Aseno and Miguna, have since differed bitterly after the deported general accused the Kenyan general of swindling him Sh2 million (USD 20,000) that was collected from the Dallas meeting.

According to the combative lawyer, the Kenyan promoter did not hand in all the donations that were made after his speech in Dallas.

However, Aseno denies taking away any money from Miguna’s event, stating that he suffered a loss of over Sh100,000 from the event.

The promoter explained that the event became a failure after Miguna sensationally attacked NASA Raila Odinga over the deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta, just a few days to the Dallas tour.

Guests were charged Sh2000 to get in to the hall and Sh1000 to take a photo with Miguna.

Aseno adds that despite Miguna’s attacks on the NASA leader, the Canadian lawyer had also carried unframed portraits of Odinga which he was selling for Sh5,000.

“Because of Miguna running his mouth, he did not sell a single portrait and the donations became very few to the extent that most supplied had to take a cut for the sake of Miguna,” Aseno stated.

In the end, Miguna received Sh 119,500 (USD 1195) from the fundraiser, and Sh15000 (USD 150) from the photos.

The promoter has challenged Miguna “use logic and explain where the figure of USD 20,000 came from”.
