Sonko's wife comes to his aid as pressure mounts

The Nairobi County First lady has pumped in her personal savings amounting to millions of shillings in her “Operation Ng'arisha Jiji".

Primrose clarified that her initiative is a voluntary one and does not in any wa imply that Sonko is incapable of delivering.

Her post that was shared by Sonko read in part that “I have volunteered to launch operation Ngarisha Jiji, not that Sonko is not able to do his job am volunteering to help in county cleaning”.

“I have a team of experts that will help in garbage recycling, women should join and be empowered as this is a job opportunity that it is being created,” Primrose added.

Sonko was the first to break the news on Social media with a post that read: “Watu wangu Kabla nisahau… earlier today my lovely wife Primrose Mbuvi officially launched her program "Operation Ng'arisha Jiji" a general cleaning exercise that shall cover the entire county… and restore our city’s once glorious image”.

A video shared on the same platform shows the county first lady driving a garbage truck bought for the project.

The general cleaning exercise will cover the 17 sub counties of Nairobi with gabbage collection done three times a week.

"Operation Ng'arisha Jiji" was Sonko’s pre-election initiative that was implemented through the Sonko rescue team but it scaled down significantly following reports that members of the Sonko rescue team had gone on strike protesting lack of pay.
