Sonko suspends 30 senior county officials
They have 14 days to defend themselves
According to the Standard, the staff on forced leave are also accused of floating the Public Finance Management act, 2012 and Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015 that has shrunk the county’s revenue.
In the letter dated April 19, the 30 suspended staff members were identified through scrutiny of available documentation and they have been given 14 days to explain why they should not be dismissed.
The directive by Governor Mike Sonko comes barely four weeks after he suspended the County Finance Executive Danvas Makori and Chief Officer Ekaya Alumasi for allegedly interfering with audit investigations.
