Suba North North MP Millie Odhiambo on Thursday caused a moment of excitement after she bragged that she only wears Victoria Secrets – a high end American brand specializing in designing of women undergarments and beauty products.
The outspoken MP made the revelation during a debate where MPs raised issue with the fallen levels of discipline in the house.
Babu Owino
The debate was occasioned by a ruling by the House Disciplinary Committee that Starehe MP Charges Njagua Kanyi and his Embakasi East MP Babu Owino had behaved dishonorably after the engaged in a fistfight in the precincts of Parliament.
“Every other time, people tend to think that chaos would rock Parliament, when MPs differ. Some people even say Millie Odhiambo will throw her thong. For your information, I do not wear thongs, I only wear Victoria’s Secret. And, no amount of sexual intimidation can put me down. Let the MPs acknowledge that a wrong was done to me,” Odhiambo told Parliament amid uproar from her colleagues.
Violence in Parliament
Ms Odhiambo said that the physical violence in the House needed to stop and made reference to her own experience where she accused Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria of tearing her panty during a divisive debate on the Security Laws (Amendment) Bill in 2014.
Kuria denied the accusation, but admitted that she had slapped the female MP.
“I slapped her because she wanted to assault the Deputy Speaker. That was great disrespect. She just stripped herself. Nobody tried to undress her. She undressed herself. She was undressing there... and even her fellow women were shocked at her actions,” the Gatundu South MP said in 2016, and further threatened to sue Odhiambo for traumatizing him with the sight of her removing her panties.
