Uhuru receives strong support from firebrand opposition legislator

The Mbita MP noted that while her past relationship with the president was not friendly, she is presently behind the president and will defend him accordingly.

“I can tell you that in the past I have been known not to be friendly with the presidency. Right now if anybody jokes with the president they will find me head-on”. Milly said.

The legislator was speaking at an event in her constituency where she handed over Title deeds, courtesy of the national government.

She also declared that the opposition is solidly behind the president in the fight against corruption that has seen Jubilee party wing allied to the DP allege that they war against corruption is being used to settle political scores.

“We are fully and totally behind the President in fighting corruption.” She said.

The firebrand opposition MP hailed the handshake between President Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga, stating that the government is now committed to addressing the issues of the area, thanks to the handshake.


Addressing the public separately at an event in Siaya County, a host of legislators led by Siaya Senator James Orengo have also thrown their weight behind President Kenyatta and accused his deputy William Ruto of trying to derail the war on corruption.

They noted that a wing in Jubilee allied to the DP are engaging the public in sideshows to derail the war on graft.

They declared that they ”do not want to be distracted by the internal wars going on in the Jubilee government because those wars have the potential to derail the war against corruption”.
