Joho given 14 day notice

The notice was issued on Tuesday morning

A local Youth group threatened that it would take legal action against Joho if the county action does not take action.

The county’s environment executive Godfrey Nyongesa announced closure of some garbage outlets to contains heaps of waste.

Unlicensed entities and individuals have also been banned from operating in Mombasa because they are the cause of garbage pile-ups in the city.

"Instead of taking waste to designated dumpsites, they empty them at mushrooming illegal collection points,” Nyongesa remarked.

Joho has also hinted at introducing a special garbage collection fee, stating that the problem has continued because residents do not make any payments towards the service.
