Watch how baba was welcome in Zimbabwe

When Mr. Odinga was called to the podium to address the mourners, the mammoth crowd went into a frenzy chanting: Odinga! Odinga! Odinga!

In his typical political tact, Mr. Odinga greeted the elated mass in their local dialect, something that resonated quite well with them prompting a unanimous response.

Africa's hero

The former Prime Minister referred to Tsvangirai as his brother and a hero of Africa. In his speech, Mr. Odinga lauded former Zimbabwe's Prime Minister for spearheading the fight for electoral justice.

“Morgan’s election victory was stolen a year after mine was stolen in Kenya,” he said referring to the bungled 2007 General Election which saw the eruption of the post-election violence. “He agreed to sacrifice his victory in order to save Zimbabwe. He became one of the leading icons of the second liberation of Africa”.

Transparent elections

The NASA leader and self-declared People’s President added: “We need to have clear and proper transparent elections in Africa. Rigged elections will not help Africa”.
