Why I declined Raila's lunch invite - Wetangula opens up
“I have not spoken to or met Raila since he betrayed me.” Moses Wetangula confesses.
In an interview on KTN, Mr. Wetangula said that he did not see the importance of attending the meeting which Mudavadi, who was in Mombasa jetted back to Nairobi to attend. Wiper Party leader is also said to have honored the former Prime Minister’s invite.
The lunch invite came days after Mr. Wetangula was removed from the Senate Minority leader position by members of Odinga-led ODM party.
"I did not find it necessary. My friend and good political ally Kalonzo Musyoka invited me, he told me that Raila has said we go and have lunch.

"But I told him that I will not go because I did not find it necessary as there was nothing we were going to discuss that was important or useful," he said.
The Senator further divulged that he had not spoken to Mr. Odinga since his removal.
"I have problems with Raila," he said. Wetangula insisted that the ODM Party leader was not the leader of the National Super Alliance (NASA) stating that he was simply the Alliance’s Presidential candidate.
Commenting on the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr. Odinga, the Bungoma Senator noted that he supports the unity initiative.
"I have absolutely no difficulty with Raila Odinga meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta. Previously, I was at the forefront asking for dialogue even before the two leaders met," Wetangula said.

He refuted claims that he was meeting with the Jubilee party leadership stating that he was firmly in the Opposition and will take up the role of holding the Government accountable.
“There is not reach out to me by Jubilee and there is not reach out by me to Jubilee. But continued discussions for the benefit of Kenyans will happen," he said.
He went on to accuse Odinga’s ODM party of being in bed with Mr. Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
"ODM is firmly in bed with Jubilee so how will the oversight happen? They are part of the cheering team clapping like a little boy. My party Ford Kenya, Wiper and ANC are not very large parties so we do not hold parliamentary positions that can hold government accountble. But despite this we will speak out,” he said.
Wetangula ended the interview by emphasising that the divorce in NASA will still be loud and messy.
