Tension in Jubilee after Office of the President's strategy against Ruto was leaked

Things are falling apart

In a rare and candid interview on Citizen TV, Murkomen confirmed that the relationship between President Kenyatta and the DP was under a lot of strain from some unnamed civil servants in the Office of the President.

"I asked the Deputy President to explain these stories we keep hearing and he told me that as far as he is concerned, his relationship with the President is still intact".

"But as far as some of us are concerned, as leaders are out there, let me be frank, the investment being put in by these people (officials in Office of the President) is so huge that it is causing fault lines," Murkomen complained.

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator went ahead to make a eerie prediction on the future of Jubilee, using a crypted swahili proverb.

"The existence of individuals who work in the Office of President who are busy dividing Jubilee is the reason why I am saying that if the President and the DP do not sit down and admit that the direction things are taking is not useful...I can tell you for sure usipoziba Ufa, utajenga ukuta (If you don't fix the crack, you will build the entire wall)," he stated.

One of the examples given by Murkomen was the President's directive that all public officials should be subjected to a lifestyle audit.

According to the Senate's Majority Leader, the lifestyle audit was a strategy crafted by the President's handlers to specifically fight Ruto.

"Before the President spoke  about the lifestyle audit, there was already a leakage of that information to a governor, Governor Mutua. And in the same very way that Mutua spoke about it and directed it to the Deputy President - we have discovered  that  there was no coincidence,"  the senator claimed.
