NASA announces last minute changes to Raila's inauguration
The event is expected to be attended by thousands of NASA supporters
The coalition on Sunday made a announcement to the media where they stated that Odinga would be sworn in as the President of the People's Assembly and not as President of the Republic of Kenya as earlier anticipated.
"The venue for the inauguration of People's Assembly President Rt Hon Raila Odinga and Deputy President Hon Kalonzo Musyoka on 12th December will be announced at 2 p.m. This afternoon," the statement read.
The coalition also stated that it had settled on a venue where the former Prime Minister would take his oath of office.
A press statement on the coalition's Facebook page indicated that the venue was to be announced at 2PM.
However, as at the time of publishing this story, two hours after the scheduled time, no announcement had been made.
The Opposition chief has insisted that the controversial swearing in ceremony would proceed as it was a manifestation of the people's will.
Despite the public show of confidence, sources inside the coalition indicated that they were unsure of the swearing in would continue given that NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka was still in Germany and has given no indication of attending the ceremony.
