David Ndii released

David Ndii is a free man.

The DPP added that the inquiry file of Ndii should be forwarded to his desk for appropriate action once probe is concluded.

This comes after NASA leader Raila Odinga claimed that the arrest of Ndii was just the beginning of intimidation by the government and more people would be arrested.

"The People of Kenya will not be intimidated into submission, through teargas, bullets, and arrests. You cant rule the people against their will. the people's will shall prevail" the former Prime Minister affirmed

On Monday , NASA Lawyer and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo revealed Ndiii was arrested over the utterances he made months ago and not the people’s assembly affair.

He added that the charges being levied to Mr. Ndii are preferring and the DCI should have summoned him for interrogations instead of pouncing on him while on a holiday.

Ndii who was being held at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road after being arrested on Sunday evening while vacationing with his family at Leopard Beach Hotel.

An article purportedly castigating President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration on the freedom of the press and sabotaging the democratic gains in Kenya in the Saturday Nation by Dr Ndii could have been the reason behind his stay in police cell last night, controversial Human Rights activist Prof Makau Mutua claimed on Monday.

Taking the details of the spree on Twitter on Monday, hours after the arrest of National Super Alliance key strategist Dr David Ndii, claimed that he was arrested for his weekly Sunday column on the Daily Nation, which has been critical of Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

“David Ndii to be charged with incitement for his Sunday Nation column — Jubilee tries to ban the Constitutional freedoms of the press, speech, conscience, thought, and expression,” Prof Makau tweeted, hours after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations divulged that Dr Ndii was apprehended for inciting the public violence.

Raila Odinga's spokesman and private secretary Dennis Onyango on the other hand claimed that Ndii was arrested due to his recent appointment in the People's Assembly.
