Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, a fierce defender of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has now opined that the bad blood between State House and Deputy President William Ruto could be all about money.
In an opinion piece published by a local daily, Ngunjiri said it was possible that Ruto’s allies may have misled the Deputy President that someone was out to undermine him so that they can benefit financially.
He stated that in politics, politicians are very paranoid especially when their allies tell them that they are being fought, even by a shadow.
Ngunjiri went on to defend civil servants who have been accused of undermining Ruto’s presidential bid.
He explained that if indeed senior State House officials were fighting the Deputy President without being reprimanded by the head of state, then it would mean that there is something that the DP was doing to undermine the President’s agenda.
The MP went on to clarify his reluctance to join Ruto’s 2022 bandwagon, saying he was merely obeying President Kenyatta’s order to keep off politics and concentrate on the Big Four Agenda.
