Nyong'o has been forced to use advanced technological platforms through which he has issued directives on the running of the county government, and at the same time receive briefings from his cabinet.
On Tuesday evening, the Kisumu governor held his first teleconferencing call where he was given updates on development programmed carried out in different departments.
“The briefing was important because the governor needs to be updated that the county is running smoothly even in his absence,” county secretary Olang’o Onudi stated.

It has also emerged that Nyong'o has been actively following local administrative issues from local whatsapp groups.
“There is also an active whatsapp group that we use also to update the governor and also get briefings,” the Standard quoted a source close to the governor.
The lake-city county boss last week published an opinion piece where he informed the country of his trip to the US where he underwent a hipbone surgery at the University of California Hospital in San Francisco.
He also castigated some unnamed individuals who had used his medical condition to spread malicious rumours.
