ODM Speaks after reports of Raila fleeing his Karen Home

Is Raila on the run?

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has denounced reports that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has fled his Karen home.

This comes amid a report by the Star which claimed that Mr. Odinga had been forced to change his base of operations after his controversial swearing-in as the People’s President.

According to the local daily, Odinga has avoided his Karen home since Tuesday and has instead been staying at a high-end Nairobi hotel.

However, the Orange Party dismissed the reports describing it as mere hogwash.

“This headline and the story herein is total hogwash, gutter and mocks a time-tested tenet of great journalism: that a journalism work shouldn’t proceed, entirely, on hearsay,” ODM tweeted.

In the tweet, ODM condemned the daily for quoting unidentified family sources adding that such cannot be relied on.

"Faceless ‘family sources’ cannot be the sole basis of a splash," he said.

This comes at a time when NASA leaders have been arrested for taking part in the swearing-in of the former Prime Minister.

Former Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna is the latest victim of the arrests.
