National Super Alliance (NASA) boss may have killed two birds with one stone following his surprise deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Jubilee party.
On the receiving end of the sweet revenge was his co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka who in 2007 surprised many by sealing a deal with Mwai Kibaki to become Kenya’s Vice President.
The deal caught many by surprise with some accusing the Wiper Party boss of being opportunistic.
Both Odinga and Kalonzo were in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) before Kalonzo decamped to ODM Kenya before the 2007 general elections.
The second instance was during ‘Odinga’s swearing in’ when other principals deserted the NASA boss, making the event appear like a one-man show and causing excitement among rival Jubilee Party politicians and supporters.
A clearly disappointed Odinga would afterwards struggle to defend his co-principals with Musyoka even breaking into tears as the team recounted what made them skip the event.
NASA supporters would hear none of it, terming the principals cowards who had betrayed a course the coalition believed in.
In a similar fashion, Odinga pulled a fast one on Kalonzo who only got to learn of the Surprise deal through the media.
Along with co-principals Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi, the three condemned the move by Odinga.
