Jubilee issues statement on controversial Mau evictions as MPs demand the arrest of Murkomen

MP's demanded for Murkomen's arrest for inciting residents

The Jubilee National Management Committee added that anyone with complains on the eviction should raise the issues with the Ministry of Environment, Kenya Forest Service and the Ministry of Water.

“That the Government position with respect to the Mau is domicile at the Ministry of Environment headed by CS Tobiko. The implementation and/or any enforcement of that policy also includes the Kenya Forest Services and the water towers agency currently domicile at the Ministry of Water. Any complaints regarding any violation during implementation should be channeled to those institutions named above,” read the statement signed by Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju.

In the statement Jubilee also addressed other issues which included not fielding a candidate for the Migori Senate by-election, endorsing the Building bridges initiative and Building a Jubilee Leadership Academy.

This comes a day after a section of MPs allied to Jubilee and ODM called for the arrest of Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, saying that he was inciting the locals to oppose the ongoing Mau forest evictions being implemented to save the Mau water tower.
