Immediate former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa on Tuesday handed over his portfolio to Ambassador Amina Mohamed.

The ceremony that took place at the ministry offices at Kencom House and he afterward took to Twitter to post his final goodbye.

He thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for having given him the opportunity to serve the country.

No hard feelings

"At the handover ceremony of Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage to the incoming Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed.

"I once again Thank H. E. Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E. William Ruto for considering me amongst 50 million Kenyans to serve my country in the capacity of a CS.

"I wish Amb. Amina the best in her new role," Echesa tweeted.

The CS was fired on March 1, 2019 through an Executive Order from the president.
