Jubilee MPs cancel mega event due to DP Ruto-Moi rivalry

Jubilee MPs cancel event at the last minute amidst concerns of the rivalry between DP Ruto and Moi

The event was meant to welcome Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter who was released from police earlier this week.

Sources revealed that Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny prevailed upon Keter and his allies to cancel the event after it emerged that Gideon Moi would be the chief guest at the event.

The event was to be held at Koitalel Arap Samoei Museum with 16 MPs invited.

MPs linked to the controversial event further disclosed that Kutuny warned Keter not to be used by DP Ruto’s rivals to scuttle his 2022 bid.

This was also supported byKeter’s close ally and  Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who disclosed that  they (Jubilee MPs) have to go “into the 2022 election as a united team behind the DP and that is why we have asked Gideon to shelve his ambition and join the Ruto camp”.

Both Ruto and Moi have declared interest in the 2022 race to State House and are engaged in a bitter rivalry to control the politics of the populous Rift Valley.

Keter and other MPs from the Rift Valley region have on numerous occasions defied Jubilee party directives openly rebelled against the party.
