I have no friend or enemy – Orengo responds to claims of betraying Raila

Orengo finally speaks

Siaya Senator James Orengo on Monday made interesting remarks when he was questioned concerning his loyalty to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.

Mr. Orengo was accused of refusing to offer legal counsel to Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, who was arrested for trading in illegal Treasury Bills worth Sh 633 million, because of his allegiance to Mr. Odinga.

A quote linked to him was brought to light on social media which divulged that he had declined to help the Jubilee allied legislator

"Yes I can confirm that Mhesimiwa Alfred Keter aide called my office requesting for our legal services in his recent case, am sorry I cannot betray president Raila Odinga and NASA family let him call Murkomen or Kindiki,” a quote linked to Mr. Orengo read.

However, the senior Counsel rubbished the allegations noting: "In defending human rights and liberty I have no friend or foe but to do justice”.

On Monday Keter alongside two others were charged with 11 counts of forgery and conspiracy to defraud the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
