The words in the oath forced Kalonzo to skip Raila Swearing-in

Finally revealed

Speaking during a radio interview Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana revealed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders had not agreed on the wordings and administration of the oath.

While defending Musyoka who has been sharply criticised for snubbing the event meant to swear him as Odinga’s Deputy, Mr. Kibwana highlighted that the Wiper Party leader was to hold deliberations with other co-principals before proceeding to Uhuru Park.

According to the Makueni Governor, that meeting never took place for fear of being arrested.

“NASA leaders were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered but they were unable to meet to resolve the issue for fear of being nabbed,” Kibwana said during an interview on Musyi FM.

He also admitted that there were some unresolved issue in the Alliance pinpointing the Parliamentary leadership positions that caused conflict among the represented Parties.

“There are wrinkles in NASA that need to be ironed out first especially distribution of leadership posts in Parliament and NASA's technical team. We need respect. There was a time we had asked for a NASA retreat because there were many who were unsettled,” he said.

Mr Kibwana emphasized that Mr Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi were still part of NASA despite absence during Odinga’s swearing-in.

He went further to criticise NASA leaders for insulting Musyoka for skipping the ceremony noting such remarks would only break the Allaince.

“Kalonzo, Musalia and Wetangula are still in NASA. It is only Raila's underlings hurling insults at Kalonzo. Kalonzo is a good leader who wants the very best for the Kenyan people and the Kamba people.

"This is not the first time he is facing abuse from partners and rivals alike,” Kibwana said.

The Governor’s remarks come after youth leaders from Ukambani heavily criticize Kalonzo accusing him of being a coward.

In a report by Capital FM, the leaders said they will switch allegiance from Musyoka to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
