Revelations were made yesterday during the burial of Kalonzo's father in Kitui
Media reports attributed to well placed sources at State House indicate that plans are underway to unveil the former Vice President as Kenya’s Special Peace Envoy.
In his new role, the Wiper part leader will be tasked with promoting peace and mediating conflicts locally as well as internationally.
In the clearest indication that the Wiper party leader could be brought on board, President Kenyatta divulged that all leaders have a role to play while addressing mourners during the burial of Musyoka’s father in Kitui.
“My brother Kalonzo should help us to bring the country together and peace for all Kenyans and even internationally. Every leader has something to contribute…all we need is to give each other space and respect one another!” Said President Kenyatta.
The development come barely a day after Musyoka and President Kenyatta cemented their relationship with Musyoka declaring that he is ready to assist by taking up any assignments.
“Natangaza hapa leo kuwa hiyo heshima Rais Uhuru amenionyesha na familia…heshima hiyo hatuwezi tukailipa. Kutoka leo, kusitokee mtu atakayenitenganisha mimi na ndugu yangu Uhuru Kenyatta! Mimi nimekubali kuwa mtu wa mguu wa Uhuru.”
(I announce here today that I may not be able to repay Uhuru for the respect shown to me and my family…From today let no one come in between separate me from my brother Uhuru Kenyatta! I accept to take up any assignments and assist) Kalonzo said.
Should the appointment materialize, the NASA principal will join Raila Odinga in who was recently appointed as AU Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
The wiper party leader is an accomplished diplomat who at one time served as Kenya’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.
