What Uhuru will be doing as Raila is sworn-in
Interesting details come light
As the former Prime Minister is set to take the oath, details of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary have come to light.
Speaking on the matter, Government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe revealed that Mr. Kenyatta will be presiding over the Jamhuri Day celebrations which will be 54th one since Kenya was established as a Republic.
Mr. Kiraithe divulged that the ceremony will be at Kasarani Stadium and will commence at 7 am. He also invited the public assuring them of security.
“Being one of the most important dates on the country’s calendar, Kenyans are once again invited to rally in unity around the values of patriotism and moving the country forward in the spirit of Kenya Mbele,” he said.
The Government spokesperson added that as per the normal tradition, the celebrations will be marked by military and police parades, cultural songs and dances and the ceremonial raising of the Kenyan flag.
This comes at a time when NASA has maintained that it will continue with its plan to swear in the former Prime Minister.
However, on Friday Mr. Odinga and his team hit Kenyatta with tough conditions to meet before he (Odinga) can consider cancelling the swearing-in ceremony.
