County clerk arrested for alleged buying of a Sh26M car
Hefty purchase
Osman was not able to produce purchase documents for the car at the time of arrest.
"Our officers have today arrested the county clerk for withholding some documents that involve the purchase of [a] highly valued governor’s vehicle," EACC spokesman Yassin Amaro told reporters.
Frozen bank accounts
The funds were allocated to the purchase of two cars but only one second-hand car was purchased at Sh12 million.
EACC officials had managed to freeze accounts belonging to Daayo Construction and General Supplies Limited and Fine Trust Construction Company which were used for the purchases.
One of the accounts that was frozen belongs to one Yassin Jama Abdullahi who is believed to be Osman's wife.
Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi on Friday also got a victory at the Supreme Court that upheld he was validly qualified for election.
