Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka approved the appointment of Orengo as Wetangula’s replacement

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sent an urgent demand to Siaya Senator James Orengo hours after he was elected as the new Senate Minority leader to replace Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

Musyoka called on Orengo not to accept the Senate Minority position.

The Wiper leader said that his party condemned ODM's decision to kick out Wetang'ula and replace him with Orengo.

Musyoka's message comes after calls by both Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and leaders from Ford Kenya who castigated the move by ODM senators.

On Tuesday, 19 senators who attended the coalition's Parliamentary Group meeting unanimously voted to replace Wetang'ula with Siaya's James Orengo.

Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka later approved the appointment of Orengo as Wetangula’s replacement.
