What Kalonzo gave Moi during surprise visit to his Kabarak home

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka led an entourage of politicians in visiting former President Daniel Arap Moi at his Kabarak home, bearing gifts.

The team that was comprised of East African Legislative Assembly MP Kennedy Musyoka, Senators Enock Wambua (Kitui), Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) and Kajiado Central MP Kanchory Memusi came visited in the wake of unity and reconciliation across the political divide after the March 09 handshake.

Musyoka presented a gift of 2 goats and a bouquet of flowers to the former retired president as a token of appreciation to the long friendship and Moi’s guidance and leadership.

On hand to receive the visiting team were Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and MPs William Kamket (Tiaty) and Silas Tiren (Moiben).

According to a prss release by Moi’s office, the delegation held discussions in which the former president urged leaders to unite and be honest in their leadership.

“Some of you will be presidents and ministers in charge of the country. You need to take time and know the whole country and develop a friendship. Take care of the people,” Moi said.

Musyoka thanked Moi for giving him a chance to serve as a Minister in Moi’s administration, admitting that this shaped his leadership skills.

The Wiper party leader served in various ministries including education and foreign affairs during the Moi regime and steadily rose to be the Vice President under President Mwai Kibaki.

The wiper party leader also expressed gratitude to Moi for the support he gave when he (Kalonzo) lost his father.

Musyoka Mairu who died at a Nairobi hospital was put to rest on 09 Nov 2018.
