William Ruto meets Gideon Moi after failed meeting with Mzee Moi

Their meeting comes days after the DP failed to meet Moi at his Kabarak home

Deputy President William Ruto has met with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi days after the DP’s failed visit to retired President Daniel Moi.

The two leaders met on Saturday at the funeral service of the late Baringo South Member of Parliament Grace Kipchoim in Muchongoi ward.

They were joined by other leaders from the Rift Valley including Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis.

The meeting between the two leaders comes just days after the Deputy President’s visit to retired President Moi was fruitless after it coincided with the former President's appointment with his doctor.

"Former President Mzee Daniel arap Moi was visited today by Deputy President His Excellency William Ruto at his Kabarak home. Unfortunately, this coincided with the time Mzee Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors. Mzee Moi agreed to meet the visitors at convenient time another day in the very near future," read a statement from the retired President’s communication team.

PSCU Director Dennis Itumbi however blamed Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, and accused him of sabotaging the visit with the intention of humiliating Deputy President William Ruto.
