Willy Mutunga exposes the one mistake Tuju made in the explosive letter to Maraga

Willy Mutunga takes on Raphael Tuju

Mr. Mutunga expressed his displeasure in the letter in which Tuju accused Mr. Maraga of openly favoring the National Super Alliance (NASA) hence enabling its leaders to disobey the rule of law.

The former CJ noted that it was a big mistake for Mr. Tuju to write directly to Maraga. He mentioned that such complaints ought to be forwarded to Office of the Judiciary Ombudsperson.

Mr Mutunga referred to Tuju’s move as that which reflects the arrogance of political power.

According to the law, the office of the Judiciary Ombudsperson is mandated to investigate complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice or unlawful, oppressive, unfair, or unresponsive official conduct among Judicial officers.

“Raphael Tuju. Your letter to CJ Maraga reflects the arrogance of political power and utter disrespect of the institution of the CJ as head of the Judiciary, and the institutions he heads, namely, the JSC, NCAJ, and NCLR. Your complaint should have been addressed to OJO,” he tweeted.

In the letter, the former Rarieda MP gave eight instances which according to him Mr. Maraga had winked at NASA to disobey the rule of law.

The Jubilee Secretary-General and nominated  Cabinet Secretary accused Maraga of attempting to burn Kenya through the reluctant way he dealt with NASA after the August 8 General Election.
