Maalim spoke after he lost an election petition where he had challenged the election of Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
Maalim later took to his Twitter account where he announced that he would appeal the High Court decision that upheld Duale's election.
The Wiper official went ahead to claim that he was aware that a certain NASA leader campaigned for Duale during
"I have instructed my lawyers to lodge the appeal ASAP. I know of a NASA leader who supported Duale in the last general election. Although his inluence (sic) in Garissa is limited, democracy guarantees everybody freedom of choice. Some leaders have perfected the art of selling support," Maalim stated.
The statement appears to worsen the already strained relationship between NASA coalition parties.
The former Deputy Speaker, who deputises Kalonzo Musyoka in Wiper, has recently criticised NASA leader Raila Odinga for taking an "illegal" oath of office.
